Hlavním cílem této bakalářské práce je postihnout formy a dopady belgické koloniální správy a dekolonizace na následný vývoj v Demokratické republice Kongo a zasadit je do kontextu probíhající studené války. V práci je postupně rozebráno, co dekolonizaci předcházelo, a co se dělo po jejím ukončení. Úvodní kapitola práce nastiňuje obecnou charakteristiku kolonialismu. The main goal of this thesis is to cover the forms and impact of the Belgian colonial administration, the decolonization of the subsequent development in the Democratic republic of Congo and to put it in the context of the ongoing Cold War.
