Reading and Writing for Critical Thinking in the 5th year-class of elementary school

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou zavádění metod a strategií programu Čtením a psaním ke kritickému myšlení (RWCT) v kooperativním uspořádání třídy 5. ročníku základní školy. V teoretické části diplomové práce je vymezena problematika výukových metod čtení a psaní a postavení RWCT v současném trendu výuky čtení a psaní. V následujících kapitolách je pojednáno o základních kognitivních teoriích a specifikách kognitivního vývoje žáka 5. ročníku ZŠ. Jsou zde též vymezeny pojmy kritické myšlení a kooperativní učení ? jejich charakteristika, principy, cíle, obsah, metody, strategie a společná východiska. Následuje praktická část, ve které je na základě výsledků výzkumu a jejich interpretace porovnána efektivita programu RWCT v kooperativním uspořádání a frontální výuky v oblasti pozorovaných kompetencí žáků ve dvou sledovaných třídách.

Abstract:

The thesis is concentrated on the problems of the Reading and Writing for Critical Thinking strategy application in co-operative class form in the 5th year-class of primary school. The problems of reading and writing methods and position of the RWCT strategy in the present reading and writing educational general drift are discoursed in the theoretical part of the thesis. Successive chapters come with the basic cognitive theories and specialities of the 5th year-class student cognitive progress. The critical thinking and co-operative education conceptions are explained here, especially their characteristics, main aims, principles, contents, methods and common ways out. In the practical part of the thesis the efficiency of RWCT strategy in co-operative class form is compared with the frontal education on the basis of the research concentrated on examined student skills in two observed classes.
