NMR Study on Slow-Exchanged Supramolecular Systems

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zaobírá studiem pomalých reorganizací čtyřkomponentního supramolekulárního systému. Jako hostitelské makrocykly byly použity cyklodextriny (CD) (konkrétně b-CD a některé jeho modifikované formy) a cucurbit[7]uril (CB7). Hosty (případně ligandy) byly různě modifikované bis(benz)imidazoliové ligandy. V teoretické části byla obecně popsána reorganizace supramolekulárních systémů a jejich rozdělení. Dále byly popsány struktury a vlastnosti molekul použitých látek, jak ligandů, tak CBn a CD. V této části byly také uvedeny zajímavé supramolekulární systémy. Byly provedeny experimenty s různými variantami hostů a hostitelů a pomocí nukleární magnetické rezonance (NMR) byla sledována dynamika vzniku inkluzních komplexů. V praktické části práce byla vyhodnocena získaná data a stanoveny počáteční rychlosti reorganizací. Počáteční rychlost reorganizací komplexů se pohybovala kolem 10-5-10-6 mmols-1dm-3. Počáteční rychlost reorganizace závisí na koncentraci komponent i struktuře látek.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is concerned with study of slow self-sorting supramolecular systems. Cyclodextrins (CD) (b-CD and some of its modified forms) and cucurbit(7)uril (CB7) were used as host molecules. Modified bis(benz)imidazolium salts were used as guest molecules. In the theoretical part, supramolecular reorganization and its rate scale was described. This part also includes description of structure and properties of the guests and hosts, considered in this thesis. In addition, some interesting supramolecular systems were described. Kinetic experiments with mentioned hosts and guests were performed. Formations and reorganisations of inclusion complexes were studied by NMR. In the discussion part, initial rates of the reorganizations were determined. Initial rate of the reorganizations was about 10-5-10-6 mmols-1dm-3 and it depends on the concentration and the structure of components.
