Transferosomes - Vesicular Carriers for Cosmetics and Pharmacy

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou transferosomů z hlediska jejich složení, vlastností, metod přípravy a současných aplikací těchto vezikulárních nosičů. Práce se dále zaměřuje na látky vhodné pro enkapsulaci do transferosomů, konkrétně na antioxidanty, kde je pozornost věnována karotenoidům. Experimentální část se věnuje formulaci a přípravě transferosomů s obsahem bioaktivního astaxanthinu metodou hydratace tenkého filmu s následnou sonikací. Připravené transferosomy jsou charakterizovány z hlediska fyzikálně-chemických vlastností, včetně velikosti a distribuce vezikul, enkapsulační účinnosti a schopnosti zhášet radikály DPPH. Biologické vlastnosti připravených formulací jsou hodnoceny z pohledu cytotoxicity.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the issue of transferosomes in terms of their composition, properties, preparation methods and current applications of these vesicular carriers. The thesis also discusses the substances suitable for encapsulation in transferosomes, particularly antioxidants, where the emphasis is on carotenoids. The experimental part is focused on the formulation and preparation of transferosomes containing bioactive astaxanthin by the method of thin film hydration followed by sonication. The prepared transferosomes are characterized in terms of physico-chemical properties, including vesicle size and distribution, encapsulation efficiency and DPPH radical scavenging ability. The biological properties of the prepared formulations are examined in terms of cytotoxicity.
