Assessment of the potential of hydroponics and aquaponics in the Czech Republic and impacts on international trade

Abstract:

Aquaponie a hydroponie patří mezi typy moderního zemědělství s obrovským potenciálem. Produkce z těchto typů zemědělství je až 9krát větší než u konvenčního zemědělství. Vysoká efektivita produkce otevírá otázku, zda by moderní zemědělství mohlo ovlivnit mezinárodní obchod. Bakalářská práce je určena především čtenářům neznalých moderního zemědělství. Právě neznalost brání aktivnímu rozvoji tohoto odvětví. Cílem práce je srovnat výtěžnost moderního zemědělství a konvenčního zemědělství, představit české i světové aquaponické a hydroponické farmy a zjistit, jaký vliv má moderní zemědělství na mezinárodní obchod. První část výzkumu probíhala pomocí polostrukturovaných kvalitativních rozhovorů s odborníky z aquaponické farmy Future Farming a z hydroponické farmy Bezdínek. Druhá část výzkumu byla zaměřena na retailové řetězce a jejich vztah k potravinám z moderního zemědělství. Výsledky výzkumu jsou rozebrány ve SWOT analýze, která je součástí praktické části.

Abstract:

Aquaponics and hydroponics are types of modern agriculture with huge potential. Production from these types of agriculture is up to 9 times greater than conventional agriculture. The high efficiency of production raises the question of whether modern agriculture could affect international trade. The bachelor thesis is primarily intended for readers unfamiliar with modern agriculture. It is ignorance that prevents the active development of this sector. The aim of the thesis is to compare the yields of modern agriculture and conventional agriculture, to present Czech and world aquaponics and hydroponics farms, and to find out what influence modern agriculture has on international trade. The first part of the research was conducted through semi-structured qualitative interviews with experts from aquaponics farm Future Farming and from Farm Bezdínek. The second part of the research focused on retail chains and their relationship with food from modern agriculture. The results of the research are discussed in the SWOT analysis, which is part of the practical part.
