Comparison of school readiness in children with conduct disorder in the different types of educational facilities

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with preschool children with behavior problems in various educational facilities. The first chapter of the theoretical part of the thesis provides expertise of the school maturity and preparedness. Above all, the difference between these two terms and their pedagogical concept is emphasised. Behavior disorders that are most frequent in preschool children are also presented in this chapter. The second chapter discusses the possibilities of education in Slovakia for children with diagnosed behavior disorder, who either grow up in ordinary family or are ordered to institutional care. We are also dealing the potential of the facilities that provide expert counselling and prevention of behavior disorders. The main part of the this chapter are children growing up in orphanages and their distinctive characteristics, by which they often differ from children living in families. We can read about the differences of children from foster homes in several specialized publications, but this work points to the significance of damaging the overall development of the child leading possibly even to pathological state caused respectively by providing inapropriate institutional care. This chapter includes also educational approaches that are applied to the children in institutional care. Thesis also contains a list of all legislative precautions that relate to the issue. The research part of the thesis was aimed to compare children with behavior disorders in various educational facilities and their school maturity by a worksheet prepared in advance. We also wanted to state whether the major factor of school unreadiness is the social environment (placement in the institutional facility) or the behavior disorder. Research confirmed that the social environment is an important factor, but the school unpreparedness is primarily affected by behavior disorder, which can, however, be amplified by the unstimulative environment and thus decrease the school maturity and preparedness.

Abstract:

Bakalárska záverečná práca sa zaoberá dieťaťom s poruchami správania v predškolskom veku v rôznom vzdelávacom a výchovnom zariadení. Prvá kapitola teoretickej časti bakalárskej práce uvádza odborné poznatky z oblasti školskej zrelosti a pripravenosti. Dôraz je kladený práve na rozdielnosť týchto dvoch pojmov a ich pedagogické poňatie. V tejto kapitole sú uvedené aj poruchy správania u detí práve v predškolskom veku, ktoré sa u detí vyskytujú najčastejšie. Druhá kapitola pojednáva o možnostiach výchovy a vzdelávania detí s diagnostikovanou poruchou správania, ktoré vyrastajú v bežnej rodine alebo majú nariadenú ústavnú starostlivosť na Slovensku. Takisto sa venujeme zariadeniam, ktoré poskytujú odborné poradenstvo a prevenciu v oblasti porúch správania. Jadrom tejto časti sú deti vyrastajúcich v detských domovoch a ich charakteristické rysy, ktorými sa často odlišujú od detí žijúcich v rodine. O odlišnostiach detí z detských domovov sa môžeme dočítať vo viacerých odborných publikáciách, no práca poukazuje na vážnosť poškodenia celkového vývoju dieťaťa až k patologickému, a to práve nevhodnou poskytujúcou ústavnou starostlivosťou. Táto kapitola obsahuje aj výchovné prístupy, ktoré sú uplatňované práve pri deťoch v ústavnej starostlivosti. Takisto bakalárska práca obsahuje zoznam všetkých legislatívnych opatrení, ktoré sa danej problematiky týkajú. Cieľom výskumnej časti bakalárskej práce bolo porovnať deti s poruchami správania v rôznom výchovno-vzdelávacom zariadení a ich školskú zrelosť pomocou vopred pripraveného pracovného listu. Chceli sme zistiť, či je zásadným faktorom pre školskú nepripravenosť sociálne prostredie (umiestnenie v ústavnom zariadení) alebo porucha správania. Výskum nám potvrdil, že sociálne prostredie je významným faktorom, no na školskú nepripravenosť primárne vplýva porucha správania, ktorú však toto nepodnetné prostredie môže prehĺbiť, a tým znižovať školskú zrelosť a pripravenosť. Presnejšie výsledky výskumu by sa iste preukázali vo väčšej prieskumnej vzorke, no dúfame, že zaujmeme aj takým náhľadom na riešenie danej problematiky.
