Adamantios Korais and The Modern Greek Enlightenment
Abstract:
Tato magisterská diplomová práce představuje osobnost Adamantia Koraise, nejvýznamnějšího učence třetí fáze řeckého osvícenství. Práce představuje nejen jeho život a dílo, ale zaměřuje se na nejdůležitější otázky řecké společnosti přelomu 18. a 19. století a zároveň zařazuje řeckého Voltaira, jak je Korais nazýván, do kontextu evropského myšlení.
Abstract:
This diploma thesis presents the personality of Adamantios Korais, his life and work. Korais, which is called the greek Voltaire, is the most important scholar of the third phase of modern greek Enlightenment. The thesis deals with several issues of the greek society at the turn of the 18th and 19th century.
