Influence of three variations of national language upon the mastery of a mother tongue

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá vlivem tří variet jednoho národního jazyka na osvojování jazyka mateřského. Výzkum je proveden na čtyřletém dítěti, které je ve svém úzkém rodinném kruhu obklopeno v různé míře spisovnou češtinou, slováckým dialektem a obecnou češtinou. Práce sleduje, kterou varietu zkoumaný subjekt upřednostňuje, zda je střídání variet závislé na míře kontaktu s představiteli těchto variet, na jiných okolnostech či zda je zcela nahodilé.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with influence of three variations of our national language upon the mastery of a mother tongue. The research was conducted with a four year old child as the subject. This child’s small family circle consist of speakers who speak at times standard Czech, the dialect of the region of Slovacko (central Moravia) as well as colloquial Czech. These linguistic influences vary in degree. The child subject was observed to see which influence is preferred. Is alternating of the varieties of language dependent on contact with the individual representatives of the different variations? Is this preference dependent on some other circumstances or is this choice quite random?
