The influence of game management on forest enterprise economics

Anotace:

AbstractDespite the fact that our society is economically driven with all the activities considering economical profit, there is the absence of this attitude in game management.The idea of this work was to compare the costs and the revenues of game management in the context of an usual forest enterprise and usual hunting district. The influence is not only the direct incomes and costs, which can be easily calculated, but also more complicated structures especially the damages on forest stands. Game management has a personal, social and it is also possible to state prestigious consideration. These reasons are putting pressure on increasing the population density of game. In many areas, the stock of hoofed game exceeds the normal stock several times. The research has been conducted there were two kinds of protection compared and contrasted with no protection and investigated. The first way to prevent damage caused by game was chemical coating, the second was fencing. The main outcome of the research was that it is crucial to protect all young stands by fencing, which is however unbearably costly. The stock of game must be reduced to a level which corresponds with carrying capacity of the environment. Since then only, the protection can be effective.
