The relationship between sport motivation, entertainability, time orientation and basketball performance

Abstract:

Cílem této práce je zjistit jaké jsou vztahy mezi zábavou, výkonem, časovou orientací a motivací ve sportovním prostředí basketbalu. Výzkumu se zúčastnilo 38 hráčů (n = 21) a hráček (n = 17) ve věku od 15 do 32 let (M = 18,9), kteří byli z 1. ligy (n = 14) a kategorii U15-19 (n = 24). Sportovci měli nejprve za úkol nastřílet 25 trestných hodů a potom 25 střel za 3 body. Následně jim byly administrovány dva dotazníky. Pro ča- sovou orientaci ZTPI-Short, pro motivaci SMS-2 a ještě měli na číselné škále NRS101 vyznačit zábavnost úkolu. Byly nalezeny významné vztahy mezi zábavou a výkonem. Negativní časové perspektivy byly asociovány s nižší mírou relativní autonomie (RAI) a nižším výkonem. Pro střelbu za 3 body se lišily skupiny věkových kategorií jak ve výkonu, tak v zábavě. Pro hráče 1. ligy byla střelba za 3 body zábavnější než trestné hody a pro kategorie U15-19 tomu bylo naopak. Data u U15-19 naznačují pozitivní vliv RAI na zábavu při střelbě za 3 body. Ženy měly větší perspektivu negativní budoucnosti i minulosti než muži. U žen navíc byl při střelbě trestných hodů záporný vztah u nega- tivní budoucnost s výkonem (rs = -0,68) a při střelbě za 3 body měla fatalistická zábava kladnývztahsezábavou(rs =0,57).Amotivacekorelovalasnegativníbudoucnostíine- gativní minulostí.

Abstract:

The aim of this study is to explore the relationships between fun, sports performance, time perspective, and motivation in basketball. A total of 38 players (n = 21 males, n = 17 females) aged 15 to 32 years (M = 18.9) participated. Comprising players from the 1st league (n= 14) and players from the U15-19 category (n=24). Athletes were first tasked with shooting 25 free throws and then 25 3-point shots. Subsequently, they completed two questionnaires: ZTPI-Short for time perspective assessment, the SIMS- 2 for motivation assessment, and rated the fun of the task on a numerical rating scale (NRS101). Significant relationships were found between fun and performance. Nega- tive time perspectives were associated with lower levels of relative autonomy (RAI) and lower performance. Age groups differed in both performance and fun for 3-point shooting, with players from the 1st league finding it more fun than free throws, while the opposite was true for the U15-19 category. Data from the U15-19 category suggest a positive influence of RAI on enjoynment during 3-point shooting. Women exhibited greater perspectives of negative past and future compared to men. Additionally, among women, a negative relationship between negative future and performance (rs = -0.68) was observed during free throw shooting, and during 3-point shooting, present fatlistic was positively correlated with fun (rs = 0.57). Amotivation was correlated with nega- tive future and negative past.
