Care for pupils with special educational needs (case study of a mainstream primary school)

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou péče o žáky se speciálními vzdělávacími potřebami na základní škole hlavního vzdělávacího proudu. Její teoretická část popisuje současnou podobu základního vzdělávání a upozorňuje na selekci v českém školství, přibližuje koncept inkluzivního vzdělávání především ve spojitosti s konceptem integrace a zasazuje jej do legislativního rámce. Věnuje se rovněž stěžejním aktérům péče o žáky se speciálními vzdělávacími potřebami a jejich vzájemné spolupráci. Těžištěm práce je kvalitativní výzkumné šetření, které přináší informace o tom, jak učitelé nahlíží na žáka se speciálními vzdělávacími potřebami, jak funguje péče o něj na běžné základní škole a jakým výzvám všichni zainteresovaní při jejím zabezpečování čelí.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis focuses on the theme of care for pupils with special educational needs at a mainstream primary school. Its theoretical part describes the current form of primary education and draws attention to the topic of selection in Czech education, it also deals with the concept of inclusive education especially in the connection with the concept of integration and puts it into the legislative framework. Moreover, it describes the crucial actors involved in the care for pupils with special educational needs and their mutual cooperation. The focal point of the thesis is represented by qualitative research that provides information on how cooperation within the school and with the social partners works. Furthermore, it discusses the teachers´ perspective of pupils with special educational needs as well as the difficulties faced by individual actors involved in the care for pupils with special educational needs.
