Factors of trust in movie streaming websites

Abstract:

Práce je zaměřena na prozkoumání faktorů, které ovlivňují vnímání uživatelů důvěry či nedůvěry ve fimlové streamingové webové stránky, které poskytují tento obsah zdarma. Hlavní výzkumnou metodou je zde kvalitativní výzkum - rozhovory s deseti respondenty, kteří popsali toto vnímání na dvou různých streamingových stránkách. K analýze těchto rozhovorů byla použita tematická analýza. Sekundární výstup této práci je seznam rad a doporučení pro webové designéry a vývojáře. Tato doporučení obsahují faktory rizik, na které si mohou weboví designéři dávat pozor při vývoji takovýchto webových filmových streamingových stránek tak, aby měl konečný uživatel pocit důvěry a spolehlivosti v tyto webové stránky. Dle výsledků, mezi nejdůležitější faktory patřily prvky obrazovky, následované bezpečnostními a prvky týkajícími se soukromí. Na druhou stranu, žádný z těchto i z mnoha dalších prvků nebyl nikdy označen jako plně důvěryhodný,, či plně nedůvěryhodný.

Abstract:

The thesis is focused on investigating the factors that influence a user’s perception of trust or distrust in movie streaming websites, that provide their content for free. The main research method consists of qualitative research - interviews with ten respondents who described their perceptions of two different streaming websites. The thematic analysis was used for analyzing the interviews. The secondary output is a list of recommendations for web designers and developers. Those recommendations contain factors of risks that web designers can look out for when developing a movie streaming website so that it can influence the end user’s perception of that website as trustful and reliable. The most important elements were according to the yielded results, the screen elements, followed by privacy and security elements. On the other hand, there was not any standalone element that would be noted by the respondents as fully trustful, neither entirely distrustful.
