Jan Zahradníček in a fabricated process 1952 (contemporary reflection in the press)

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce analyzuje konstrukci mediálního obrazu katolického básníka Jana Zahradníčka v rámci vykonstruovaného procesu s tzv. klerikálně fašistickou odnoží Zelené internacionály tak, jak jej vytvářela stranická periodika – Mladá fronta, Rudé právo, Svobodné slovo a Lidová demokracie na počátku 50. let 20. století. Z těchto periodik byly vybrány články, které se explicitně věnují vykonstruovanému procesu, jenž se konal 2. až 4. července 1952, či dřívějším událostem, které k procesu vedly. Vykonstruovaný proces není izolovanou událostí, proto se práce věnuje problematice ze širšího úhlu pohledu. Nepomíjí křivá obviňování Jana Zahradníčka od roku 1945 v Kulturní politice a v Rudém právu, rovněž mapuje vztah stranických periodik k církvi a Vatikánu během let následujících. Vrcholem práce a zároveň důkazem absurdity vykonstruovaného procesu s katolickými intelektuály je jejich obvinění ze spolupráce se smyšlenou organizací, údajně ovládanou americkým imperialismem, tzv. Zelenou internacionálou. Všechny zvolené texty byly podrobeny kvalitativní analýze, která vedla k identifikaci morální paniky, perzekučních stereotypů a konceptu obětního beránka.

Abstract:

The present bachelor thesis analyses the construction of the media view of the poet Jan Zahradníček through the fabricated charge with so called clerical fascist offshoot of the Green International as it was created by the party newspapers Mladá fronta, Rudé právo, Svobodné slovo and Lidová demokracie at the beginning of the 1950s. Out of these newspapers, articles that deal explicitly with a fabricated charge, which was held from 2nd to 4th July 1952, or with previous events leading to the process, were chosen. The thesis deals with the topic of fabricated charge from a broader point of view as it cannot be considered an isolated event. It includes false accussations of Jan Zahradníček in Kulturní politika and Rudé právo, which started in 1945, as well as it maps the relationship of the party newspapers to the church and to the Vatican during the following years. The climax of the thesis and at the same time the evidence of absurdity of the fabricated charge with catholic intelectuals is their accusation of cooperation with a fabricated organization, reportedly led by American imperialism, so called Green International. All the texts chosen were analysed using the quantitative analysis which led to the identification of the moral panicking, of persecution stereotypes and to a concept of a sacrificial lamb.
