The Methodology of pollutants on the sacral objects in Moravian-Silesian region and the proposal for their preservation

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce je přiblížit a na vybraných příkladech implementovat vliv znečišťujících látek v ovzduší v Moravskoslezském kraji v průběhu posledních let. Budou vybrány dva objekty sakrální architektury, konkatedrála Nanebevzetí Panny Marie v Opavě a kostel Panny Marie Královny v Ostravě. Teoretická část práce se bude zabývat historickým a stavebním vývojem daných památek. S využitím dostupné literatury a pramenů bude provedena syntéza dosavadních poznatků, jež budou zhodnoceny ve prospěch sledovaného tématu. V praktické části práce budou uvedeny přijatelné korozní limity a rovnice znehodnocení pro pískovec, vápenec, měď, zinek a ocel. S pomocí rovnic znehodnocení bude vypočítán korozní úbytek daných materiálů. V této části práce budou využity informace z oficiálních internetových stránek ČHMÚ. Na základě aplikovaných metod a získaných korozních úbytků daných materiálů bude vypracováno výsledné stanovisko o vlivu znečišťujících látek v dané oblasti. V rámci vyhodnocení získaných údajů, po analýze aktuálního stavu poškození a degradace bude doporučen postup konzervace vybraných materiálů a způsob ochrany památek před škodlivým vlivem znečišťujících látek.

Abstract:

The aim of the diploma thesis is to describe and to implement selected pollutants in the Moravian-Silesian region in recent years. Two objects of sacral architecture will be selected, the Concathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Opava and the Church of the Virgin Mary Queen in Ostrava. The theoretical part will deal with the historical and constructional development of the monuments. Using the available literature and sources, a synthesis of existing knowledge will be carried out, which will be evaluated in favor of the monitored topic. Acceptable corrosion limits and degradation equations for sandstone, limestone, copper, zinc and steel will be presented in the practical part. The corrosion loss of the materials will be calculated using the degradation equations. In this part of the thesis, information from the official website of ČHMÚ will be used. On the basis of applied methods and obtained corrosion losses of given materials will be elaborated final opinion on influence of pollutants in given area. As part of the evaluation of the obtained data, after the analysis of the current state of damage and degradation, the procedure of preservation of selected materials and the way of protection of monuments against harmful influence of pollutants will be recommended.
