The aim of this thesis is to compare selected fairy-tales of Hans Christian Andersen and Oscar Wilde. Cílem práce je porovnat podobnosti a rozdíly mezi pohádkami Oscara Wilda a Hanse Christiana Andersena. Srovnání je provedeno analýzou motivů lásky, smrti pýchy a několika náboženských motivů zejména ve vybraných pohádkách obou autorů a zhodnocením přístupu obou spisovatelů k těmto motivům.
