Abstract:
Malacosporeans (Myxozoa) comprising only three nominal species, cycle between vertebrate (fish) and invertebrate (bryozoans) host in freshwater aquatic ecosystems. This thesis is focused on in vitro cultivation of bryozoans, using algal cultures in order to investigate malacosporean life cycles via transmission experiments.
