Cílem této diplomové práce je analýza a zhodnocení průmyslové výroby na Ostravsku a její dopad na životní prostředí. V první části je rozebrána metodika práce a zdroje dat. Následuje rozbor patřičné literatury, týkající se problematiky životního prostředí ve světových i tuzemských městech a aglomeracích.
