Prediction of hybrid efforts of the Russian Federation in the Baltics

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce je analýza hybridního působení Ruska vůči pobaltským státům za účelem identifikace rizik eskalace současného konfliktu a určení dalšího vývoje v horizontu pěti let. Po konceptualizaci hybridního působení a představení historického pozadí konfliktu jsou analyzování nejdůležitější aktéři pro stanovení vstupních hodnot simulace. Do simulace vstupuje jako důležitá proměnná Rusko-ukrajinská válka. Pomocí nástroje Predictioneer’s Game bylo zjištěno, že konflikt v Pobaltí je stabilní a ve střednědobém horizontu nehrozí jeho významná eskalace.

Abstract:

The goal of this thesis is to analyse the Russian hybrid warfare against the Baltic states for identification of possibilities of escalation of the current conflict and to predict further developments within following five years. After the conceptualization of hybrid warfare and introduction the historical background of the conflict, the most important actors involved are analysed for determining the input values of simulation. The Russo-Ukrainian War has become an important variable of the simulation. Using Predictioneer’s Game, the conflict in the Baltic region has been found to be stable and won't to escalate significantly in the medium term.
