The effect of marijuana on cognitive functions

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zaobírá tématem "Vliv marihuany na kognitivní funkce člověka", v teoretické části se zabývám pojmy, jako jsou návykové látky a závislost. Poté se zaměřuji na historii konopných drog, psychoaktivní látky, které jsou obsaženy v marihuaně, dále se zaměřuji na možné uživatele konopných drog. Ke konci teoretické části popisuji druhy intoxikace konopnými drogami. V teoretické části se soustřeďuji také na samotné kognitivní funkce člověka a vliv marihuany na jejich funkci. Praktická část diplomové práce je věnována mému průzkumu, který zjišťuje, zda dochází ke změnám kognitivních funkcí při dlouhodobém užívání marihuany. V průzkumu se tedy budu věnovat zkoumání kognitivních funkcí u jednotlivých respondentů a to pomocí sady testů Neuropsychologické baterie od Marka Preisse a kolektivu. Do průzkumu se zapojilo celkem 31 respondentů. A to 16 každodenních uživatelů marihuany a 15 respondentů, kteří nemají žádné zkušenosti s touto látkou.

Abstract:

The thesis addresses the topic "Marijuana´s effects on the human cognitive functions". In the theoretical part I deal with terms such as addictive substances and addiction. Then I focus on the history of cannabis drugs, psychoactive ingredients that are contained in marijuana and on possible cannabis users. At the end of the theoretical part I describe types of cannabis-associated intoxication. The theoretical part also focuses on the human cognitive functions and how they can be affected by marijuana. The practical part of the thesis is devoted to my research, which determines whether there is a change in cognitive functions during the long-term use of marijuana. In the research, I will focus on cognitive functions of individual respondents using a set of tests of the Neuropsychological Battery by Mark Preiss et al. A total of 31 respondents participated in the survey, including 16 daily marijuana users and 15 respondents who have no experience with this substance.
