Předkládaná bakalářská práce přináší postupně pohled na jednotlivé etapy historického vývoje pojištění měst, obcí a průmyslu. Dále zachycuje vývoj právní úpravy majetkového pojištění v základním rámci a zhodnocuje vývoj a strukturu pojistného trhu v České republice, především členů ČAP v letech 2004 – 2008 prostřednictvím ukazatelů: předepsané pojistné, vyplacená pojistná plnění a škodovost.
