Abstract:
The thesis explores the situation of Victorian women criminals, their position in society and the conditions of their imprisonment, illustrating it on Sarah Waters' fictional novel Affinity. The thesis describes the changes in society in relation to the Industrial revolution and shows how they influenced the contemporary criminality.
