Perception of the Study Benefits Apprehended by Participants of U3A Courses in Their Lives

Abstract:

Vnímání přínosů studia účastníky kurzů U3V v jejich životě představuje téma bakalářské práce, která pojednává o studiu seniorů navštěvujících kurzy U3V déle než 4 roky. Autor v teoretické části vymezuje pojem stáří doprovázený o problémové definice, včetně chápání tohoto pojmu, a s ním spojeného věku. Dále uvozuje aktuální téma „Stárnoucí společnosti“. Kapitolu završuje možnostmi pedagogického působení u seniorů poukázáním na možnost zkoumání psychologických konceptů krystalické a fluidní inteligence, jakož i plasticity mozku. Vše řečené je v rámci práce nahlíženo z pohledu několika disciplín. Následují koncepty celoživotního učení, aktivního stáří, k nimž je doplněna oblast zájmového vzdělávání. Souhrnně se tyto oblasti věnují zvyšování kvality života. Třetí kapitola se pak věnuje úvodu do vzdělávání seniorů, geragogiky jako vědní disciplíny. Nejsou opomenuta ani institucionální zázemí Asociací univerzit třetího věku a Univerzit třetího věku. K začátku empirické části autor uvádí metodologický postup, načež seznamuje čtenáře s výsledky výzkumu a analýzou rozhovorů s účastníky kurzů U3V.

Abstract:

Perception of the study benefits apprehended by participants of U3A courses in their lives represents the topic of bachelor thesis which deals with the study of seniors attending U3A courses for more than four years. The author in the theoretical part defines the term of ageing accompanied by issues with definitions, including an understanding of this concept and associated term of age. Furthermore, he introduces the topic "Ageing society". Chapter is completed with the possibilities of pedagogical activity among seniors by emphasizing the opportunity of further exploration as for the psychological concepts of crystallized and fluid intelligence as well as brain plasticity. Everything said is a part of the work viewed from the perspective of several disciplines. Consequently the following concepts are that of lifelong learning, active ageing, which is complemented with interest area of education. Summarily, these areas are dedicated to the improvement of the life quality. The third chapter is devoted to an introduction to the education of seniors and Geragogy as a scientific discipline. Institutional background providing specification of Association of Third Age Universities and Universities of the Third Age is also not excluded. At the beginning of the empirical part, the author presents a methodological approach and then introduces to the reader final results of research and analysis of interviews with course participants of U3A.
