Application of phytoindicative archaeology in geobiocenology

Abstract:

Tématem této práce bylo studovat vegetační projevy na archeologických lokalitách. Studovány byly zaniklé středověké vesnice nacházející se v různých částech České republiky s důrazem na lokality nacházející se v lesních společenstvech. Základní otázkou bylo zjistit, zda je možné na základě druhového složení synuzie nedřevnatého podrostu, popřípadě druhového bohatství, detekovat antropicky ovlivněná stádia geobiocénů. Také jestli přispěje k významnosti indikace pomocí druhového složení pokryvnost, získaná fytocenologickým snímkováním, Ellenbergovými indikačními hodnotami a Grimeho strategiemi (CSR). Další otázkou bylo, jaké živiny jsou zodpovědné za vegetační projevy a zda je možné zachytit jejich zvýšené množství v rostlinné biomase. Pomocí vegetačních projevů bylo možné detekovat antropicky ovlivněná stádia geobiocénů jak v (polo)přirozených lesních porostech, tak v polním geobiocenoidu. Na základě druhového spektra bylo možné detekovat indikační druhy pro relikty domů a bývalou náves jak na detailních plochách o velikosti 4m2, tak i na geobiocenologických plochách o velikosti 400m2. Na základě druhového spektra byly na Kersku, Svídné i na Žáku stanoveny indikační druhy pro relikty budov a pro bývalou náves. Ellenbergovy indikační hodnoty indikovaly na Kersku, na Svídné i na Žáku na relikteh budov teplomilnější vegetaci, vyšší pH a živiny. Grimeho strategie měly na Kersku, na Svídné i na Žáku stejný trend, kdy na reliktech budov byla více zastoupena R strategie a na návsi strategie S. Na Kersku byl tento trend statisticky průkazný. Pozitivní vegetační projevy vznikaly v reakci na větší množství rostlinám dostupných živin (P, K, Ca, Mg, Zn). Zvýšené množství těchto živin bylo také detekováno v rostlinné biomase. Krátkodobé sídelní aktivity změnily druhové složení i druhovou bohatost. Projevuje se zde velmi výrazná prostorová variabilita i v prostorovém měřítku několika čtverečních metrů. Změny v chemismu půdy i druhovém složení mohou být dlouhodobé až nevratné. Je možné detekovat antropicky ovlivněná stádia geobiocénů na detailních i geobiocenologických plochách na základě druhového složení synuzie nedřevnatého podrostu a druhového bohatství?

Abstract:

The topic of this work was the study of vegetation manifestations on archaeological sites. Defunct medieval villages located in various parts of the Czech Republic were studied, with an emphasis on localities located in forest communities. The basic question was to find out whether anthropogenically influenced geobiocene stages can be detected based on the species composition of the synuse of herb layer, or species richness. Also, if the coverage obtained by phytocenological sampling, the Ellenberg indicator values and the Grime strategy (CSR) will contribute to the significance of the indication using the species composition. Another question was which nutrients are responsible for vegetation indication and whether it is possible to capture their increased amount in plant biomass. With the help of vegetation indication, it was possible to reveal the anthropically influenced stages of geobiocenes both in (semi)natural forest stands and in the terrain geobiocenoid. Based on the species spectrum, it was possible to detect indicator species for household relics and a former village square both on detailed areas of 4m2 and on geobiocenological areas of 400m2. Based on the species spectrum, indicator species were determined in Kersko, Svídná and Žák for the relics of buildings and for the former village square. Ellenberg's indicator values showed more thermophilic vegetation, higher pH and nutrient content on relic objects in Kersko, Svídná and Žák. The Grime strategies in Kersko, Svídná and Žák had the same trend, where the R strategy was more represented on building relics and the S strategy in the village. This trend was statistically evident in Kersko. Positive vegetation indication was influenced by higher amount of plant-available nutrients (P, K, Ca, Mg, Zn). An increased amount of these nutrients was also found in plant biomass. Short-term settlement activities changed species composition and species richness. There is very significant spatial variability, even on a spatial scale of several square meters. Changes in soil chemistry and species composition can be long-term or irreversible. Based on the species composition of the synuse of non-woody undergrowth and species richness, can anthropogenically influenced geobiocene stages be detected on detailed and geobiocenological plots?
