Social support for parents caring for children with multiple disabilities

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se věnuje tematice sociální opory rodinám s kombinovaně postiženým dítě-tem. Zkoumá, jak matky pečující o své postižené děti vnímají současnou sociální oporu své osoby a jestli je pro ně dostatečná. Práce se skládá z teoretické části přibližující problematiku rodin s kombinovaně postiženým dítětem a definuje pojem sociální opory. Praktická část zahrnuje metodiku výzkumu, jeho interpretaci a výsledky. Sociální jev je zkoumaný metodou kvalitativního výzkumu, který využívá polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s matkami dětí. Výzkum zjistil zdroje sociální opory respondentek, jejich hodnocení této opory a dostatečnost těchto zdrojů. Mimo jiné výzkum ukázal, že v současné době sociální opora respondentkám stačí, avšak do budoucna mají o její naplnění obavy.

Abstract:

The Bachelor´s thesis is focused on the theme of social suppor for families with multiple di-sabled child. It researches, how mothers caring for their disabled children perceive current social support of themselves and if this support is sufficient. The thesis is composed of theo-retical part and practical part. Theoretical which describes issues of families with multiple disabled child and defines a term of social support. Practical part includes research methodology with its interpretation and results. The social phenomenon is explored by qualitative research methods, which uses semi-structured interviews where mothers are the only respondents. This research occupies itself wtih collecting the types of sources of social support of the respondents, their evalu-ation of this support and sufficiency of these sources. The research shows as well, that the social support provided nowadays is covering the needs, but the respondents are worried of its sufficiency in the future.
