The revival of religion in Mongolia in the context of creating the post-socialistic national identity
Abstract:
Diplomová práce se zabývá obnovou náboženství v Mongolsku v období post-socialismu. Cílem práce je popsat, jakou roli hrají obnovující se náboženství v procesu vytváření nové mongolské identity. Pozornost je věnována především buddhismu (a problémům identity mongolských buddhistů) a kultu Čingischána, ale například také vztahu státu a náboženství po roce 1990.
Abstract:
The diploma thesis deals with the revival of religions in Mongolia in post-socialistic period. The aim of this work is to describe what role the renovating religions play in the process of creating of the new Mongolian identity. Attention is paid mostly to Buddhism (also to problems with identity of Mongolian Buddhists) and the cult of Chinggis Khaan, but also to the relationship between state and …more
