Occupational therapy multistage fracture of the distal radio

Abstract:

Název: Ergoterapie u etážové fraktury distálního radia Cíl: Cílem bakalářské práce je poukázat na možnosti ergoterapeutické intervence u etážové fraktury distálního radia. Metodika: Tato bakalářská práce je zpracována formou kazuistiky klientky po etážové fraktuře distálního radia. V první části práce jsem provedla analýzu odborné literatury a nashromáždila jsem teoretické poznatky týkající se anatomie a kineziologie předloktí a etiologie, léčby a rehabilitace fraktur radia. Popsala jsem funkce horní končetiny a svou pozornost jsem věnovala především ergoterapeutickým postupům využívaných při rehabilitaci po úrazech na horní končetině. Hlavní část práce popisuje konkrétní postupy, které jsem v ergoterapeutické intervenci při terapii využívala. Obsahuje anamnézu odebranou formou rozhovoru s klientkou, vstupní i výstupní vyšetření, při kterém jsem provedla měření a testování končetiny a pozorování funkčních schopností končetiny. V závěru hlavní části práce jsem uvedla přehledné výsledky pro zhodnocení efektu terapie. Výsledky: Výstupním vyšetřením bylo zjištěno posílení svalů předloktí, ruky a prstů a viditelně se také zvýšila hybnost celé končetiny. Výrazně se zlepšila koordinace, obratnost a jemná motorika ruky a prstů. Klientka zvládá všechny silové a precizní úchopy a po vyšetření pomocí standardizovaných testů je patrné, že došlo také k výraznému zrychlení provádění cílených pohybů. V současnosti je klientka již plně soběstačná a s běžnými denními aktivitami nemá větší obtíže. Závěr: Z výsledků výstupního vyšetření je zřejmé, že ergoterapeutická intervence u klientky s etážovou frakturou distálního radia byla přínosná a efekt terapie byl příznivý. I přesto, že funkční stav končetiny není ideální, nemá klientka v běžném životě zásadní obtíže. Pro dosažení příznivějších výsledků je vhodné i po skončení ergoterapeutické intervence pokračovat v autoterapii a končetinu zapojovat do běžných denních činností.

Abstract:

Title: Occupational therapy multistage fracture of the distal radio Objective: The aim of the bachelor thesis is to point out the possibilities of occupational therapy intervention in the stage fracture of the distal radius. Methodology: This bachelor's thesis is elaborated in the form of a case report of the client with the multistage fracture of the distal radius. In the first part of my thesis, I collected the theoretical knowledge about anatomy and kineziology of the forearms, etiology, treatment and rehabilitation of radius fractures. I have described the functions of the upper limb and hand and I have devoted my attention mainly to the occupational therapist procedures used in rehabilitation after injuries in the upper limb. The main part of the thesis describes the specific procedures which were used in the therapy. It contains a history of an interview with a client, an entrance and an outpatient exam, in which I performed limb measurement and testing and observation of the functional abilities of the limb. At the end of the main part of my work I presented clear results for evaluation of the effect of the therapy. Results: An excercise showed muscle strengthening of the forearm, hand, and fingers, and the movement of the entire limb was also noticeably increased. Coordination, dexterity and fine hand and finger motor skills have improved significantly. The client manages all power and precision gripping, and after examination using standardized tests, it is obvious that there has been a significant acceleration in the performance of targeted movements. At present, the client is fully self-sufficient and does not have any more difficulties with activities daily living. Conclusion: From the results of the examination, it is obvious that the occupational therapy intervention in the client with distal radial fracture was beneficial and the effect of the therapy was favorable. Even though functional limbs are not ideal, the client does not have any major problems in everyday life. In order to achieve more favorable results, it is also advisable to continue self-treatment after the end of occupational therapy and to engage the limb in normal daily activities.
