European Voluntary Service in the context of the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Hlavním cílem této diplomové práce je navrhnout doporučení pro rozvoj Evropské dobrovolné služby v České republice. Literární přehled předkládá analýzu odborných poznatků ze sledované problematiky. Je zaměřen do tří oblastí, a to na neziskový sektor, dobrovolnictví a Evropskou dobrovolnou službu (EDS). Za účelem dosažení hlavního cíle je v praktické části provedena analýza dosavadních zkušeností s Evropskou dobrovolnou službu v zemích Evropské unie, a také v České republice. Je využito analýzy sekundárních a primárních dat. Vlastní sběr dat je proveden technikou rozhovoru s absolventy EDS a dotazníkovým šetřením u akreditovaných organizací pro poskytování EDS. Na základě zjištěných poznatků je navrženo doporučení pro rozvoj Evropské dobrovolné služby v České republice. V závěru diplomové práce jsou diskutovány omezující faktory, které by mohly mít vliv na vyvozené závěry a jsou shrnuty nejdůležitější poznatky práce.

Abstract:

The main objective of this diploma thesis is to suggest recommendations for the development of European Voluntary Service in the Czech Republic. The literature review presents an analysis of the expertise related to the observed problem. It is focused to the three areas, namely non-profit sector, voluntarism and European Voluntary Service (EVS). In order to achieve the main objective, in the practical part the analysis of the experience with the European Voluntary Service in the Czech Republic and other European Union countries is performed. Analysis of secondary and primary data is applied in this thesis. For primary data collection an interview with alumni EVS and questionnaire survey filled by accredited organizations for the provision of EVS is used. On the basis of knowledge the recommendations for the development of the European Voluntary Service in the Czech Republic are suggested. In the conclusion of this diploma thesis, the limiting factors that could affect the conclusion are discussed and the most important findings of diploma thesis are summarized.
