Mysticism in Christianity and in philosophy

Abstract:

Předložená diplomová práce se zabývá pojmem mystika a jeho projevy v křesťanském náboženství a křesťanské filozofii. První část práce je věnována základnímu vymezení pojmu mystiky a pojmů k ní se vztahujícím jako samotný vznik pojmu mystika, mystická cesta, mystická zkušenost, jazyk mystiky, mystik a vztahům mystiky k ostatním oborům či oblastem lidského života. V následujících dvou kapitolách práce jsou postupně provedeny nejprve rozbory díla Terezie z Lisieux a Sörena Kierkegaarda. V obou částech je proveden pokus o zformulování jejich pojetí mystiky. V závěrečné části je provedeno srovnání mystiky a života těchto osobností.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the concept of mysticism and manifestations of this concept in Christian religion and Christian philosophy. The first part of the thesis introduces basic definitions of mysticism and concepts connected with mysticism, e.g. the emergence of the concept of mysticism, the mystical path, the mystical experience, the language of mysticism, and the relationships of the mysticism to other fields of human life. Analyses of the writings of Therese of Lisieux and the writings of the Sören Kierkegaard are made in the following parts of this thesis. The attempt to define the concepts of mysticism of these two Christian thinkers is made. The closing part compares the writings and lives of these two authors.
