Czech translation of Lama Ole Nydahe´s Entering the Diamond way

Abstract:

The present bachelor thesis deals with the translation-oriented text analysis of the popular scientific text chosen from the field of Buddhism Entering the Diamond Way Tibetan Buddhism Meets the West written by Danish author Ole Nydahl. The aim of this thesis is to analyse the source text via Nord´s model of text analysis in translation, translate it into the Czech language and comment on the most significant issues supporting translator´s choice by argument. The thesis is divided into three main sections. The first section provides with the analysis of external and internal factors based on Nord´s model of text analysis in translation. The second section contains the translated text itself and the last section icludes commentaries on the most significant problems which occurred during the process of translation.

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá překladem buddhistickéh populárně naučného textu, který byl vybrán z knihy dánského autora Ole Nydahla s názvem Moje cesta k lamům. Cílem práce je analyzovat zdrojový text pomocí modelu Ch. Nordové, přeložit jej do češtiny a následně rozebrat překladatelsky komplikovaná místa. V první části je zdrojový text podroben analýze vybraných vnějších a vnitřních faktorů zdrojového textu. Druhou část tvoří překlad samotný a poslední část zahrnuje komentáře k překladu, kde jsou rozebrána překladatelsky komplikovaná místa a zvolené přístupy k jejich řešení.
