Stressful Situations in the Work of After-school Child Care Staff

Abstract:

Předkládaná diplomová práce Zátěžové situace v práci vychovatele ve školní družině popisuje nejčastější obtíže, s nimiž se pedagogičtí pracovníci působící na žáky v uvedeném zařízení při své činnosti setkávají. V první části textu jsou popsána hlavní témata s oporou odborné literatury - školní družina, vychovatel, zátěž, zátěžové situace, zvládání zátěžových situací, stres, distres a syndrom vyhoření. Hlavním cílem provedeného výzkumu je objasnit, jaké druhy profesní zátěže se nejčastěji vyskytují u vychovatelů ve školní družině a jakými způsoby se vychovatelé vyrovnávají s příznaky distresu. Pro bližší specifikaci cíle byl zvolen kvantitativně orientovaný výzkum - metoda dotazníkového šetření. Dotazník byl určen pro vychovatele ve školních družinách. Dotazníkové šetření zjišťovalo např.: zda vychovatelé pokládají svou práci za zatěžující a cítí se ve stresu, co jim případný distres způsobuje a zda přemýšleli někdy o odchodu ze svého povolání. Získaná data byla zpracována do grafů a pomocí nich byly vyobrazeny a popsány výsledky výzkumu. Samotný výzkum prokázal, že vychovatelé jsou obvykle ženy se středním pedagogickým vzděláním. Stres jim způsobují neshody s rodiči žáků a zatěžující jsou pro ně problémy s žáky s poruchami chování. Pro lepší vyrovnávání se stresem jim pomáhá relaxace, odpočinek, spánek.

Abstract:

This thesis, entitled Stressful Situations in the Work of After-school Child Care Staff, deals with the most common problems of the pedagogical staff working with pupils in after-school programmes. The first section of the thesis is based on expert literature and describes the key subjects - after-school programmes, educators, strain, stressful situations, coping with stressful situations, stress, distress and the Burnout Syndrome. The main objective of the research was to identify the types of professional strain which most often occur in after-school programme educators, and in what ways educators cope with symptoms of distress. The research conducted in the thesis was quantitative - the survey research method. In the questionnaire, after-school programme educators were asked, for example, if they feel strain at work; if they feel to be in stress; if they do feel distress, then what it is caused by; and if they have ever thought of leaving their job. The acquired data was implemented in graphs which show and describe the research results. The findings suggest that educators are typically females with secondary-school pedagogical training. The cause of stress are disagreements with pupils' parents. The strain at their work is caused by problems with pupils suffering from conduct disorders. What helps them cope with stress better is to relax, rest and sleep.
