Motivation, emotions and relationships concerning pc gaming in puberty

Abstract:

Tato práce si kladla za cíl zmapovat problematiku počítačových her u pubescentů. Oblast výzkumu se zaměřovala na problematiku motivace, emocí a vztahů v kontextu počítačových her. Výsledkem výzkumu naznačují, že počítačové hry mohou podporovat autonomii pubescentů, protože jim často nabízejí možnost volby. Podle slov teenagerů jsou emoce prožívané při hraní počítačových her ambivalentní a závislé na herní situaci. Ve vztahové rovině dochází výzkum k závěru, že počítačové hry mohou podporovat spolupráci a komunikaci a to zejména mezi bratry. Povaha výzkumu znemožňuje zobecnění platnosti závěrů.

Abstract:

The bachelor theses are aimed at exploring the phenomenon of pc gaming in puberty. It is focused on exploring motivation, emotions and relationships in the context of pc gaming in puberty. The results suggest that pc games may support the autonomy of players in puberty due to the fact that pc games often offer players to make decisions and choices. According to the teenagers, the emotions experienced while playing pc games are ambivalent and are influenced by the game play conditions. It is also suggested that pc games may positively stimulate cooperation and communication among teenagers and mainly among siblings. However, the natures of quantitative research do not allow the results to be generalized
