Behavioural interventions to promote sustainable behaviour

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on evaluating the effectiveness of nudge interven-tions, specifically motivational posters and stickers, in influencing the decision to take the stairs instead of the elevator. The theoretical part introduces the concept of nudge interventions and their application in promoting healthier and more sustainable behavior. The empirical part describes an experiment conducted at the Faculty of Economics and Administration of Masaryk University, where motivational posters and stickers were installed. Respondent behavior was monitored using au-tomated counters both before and after the implementation of the in-terventions and was complemented by a questionnaire survey. Based on the collected data, hypotheses were tested and recommendations for future research were proposed.

Abstract:

Táto diplomová práca sa zameriava na overenie účinnosti nudge inter-vencií, konkrétne motivačných plagátov a nálepiek, pri ovplyvňovaní rozhodnutia využiť schody namiesto výťahu. Rešeršná časť práce pred-stavuje koncept nudge intervencií a ich uplatnenie v oblasti podpory zdravšieho a udržateľného správania. Empirická časť opisuje experi-ment realizovaný na Ekonomicko-správnej fakulte Masarykovej uni-verzity, kde boli nainštalované motivačné plagáty a nálepky. Správanie respondentov bolo monitorované prostredníctvom automatických sčí-tačov pred a po implementácii intervencií a doplnené dotazníkovým šetrením. Na základe získaných údajov boli overené hypotézy a navrh-nuté odporúčania pre budúce výskumy.
