The Census in the Czech republic - history, significance, future

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce SLDB -- historie, význam a budoucnost popisuje vývoj populačního cenzu v České republice od roku 1900. Zachycuje jednotlivé změny a postupy, které nastaly během více než sta let v přípravě a průběhu cenzu či zpracování výsledků. Analyzuje národnostní a náboženské složení, které prošlo změnami nastalými díky novým definicím, politickou a společenskou situací či pokrokem doby samotné. Zkoumání náboženské struktury bylo ovlivněno zařazování otázky náboženství do cenzu, která byla pokládána do roku 1950 a následně až od roku 1991, kdy se spolu s otázkou národnosti stala dobrovolnou. Zabývá se metodami používanými pro cenzus v zahraničí a nastiňuje otázku budoucnosti sčítání v České republice. Budoucnost vychází z historických aspektů a stále není jasné, jak bude v příštích letech vypadat. Existuje mnoho návrhů, podle kterých by mohl populační cenzus probíhat, kdy nejpřijatelnějším návrhem z mého pohledu je vybudování registrů a následně čerpání dat z nich dostupných.

Abstract:

Bachelor thesis SLDB -- history, significance and future describes the development of population census in the Czech Republic since 1900. It shows the various changes and procedures that occurred during more than a hundred years in the preparation and conduct of a census or processing of the results. It analyses the ethnic and religious composition, which has undergone changes that occur due to the new definitions, political and social situation and progress of time itself. The examination of religious structures were affected by inclusion of religion in the census, which was asked until 1950 and later until 1991, when together with the question of nationality became voluntary. It deals with the methods used for census abroad and outlines future issues of the census in the Czech Republic. The future is based on the historical aspects and it is still unclear how it will look in the coming years. There are many proposals, by which it could be population census, the most acceptable census in my view, is to build registries and subsequently drawing data from them available.
