Abstract:

Tato studie posuzuje dopad strategie bezplatné mateřské zdravotní péče (FMHCP) na mateřskou úmrtnost a péči o děti. Studie se zaměřuje na zkoumání prostorového dopadu strategie na mateřskou úmrtnost, analyzuje vliv strategie na kojeneckou úmrtnost, posuzuje souvislosti mezi FMHCP a přístupem ke zdravotní péči ze strany kojících matek a jejich kojenců a zkoumá překážky komplikující přístup k této strategii. Studie byla založena na teorii plánovaného chování a na modelu zdravotního přesvědčení. Byla použita metoda smíšeného výzkumu. Metodou záměrného výběru bylo vybráno 96 respondentů, kteří buď vyplnili dotazník, anebo odpovídali na otázky v přímém rozhovoru. Ze studie vyplynulo, že strategie bezplatné mateřské zdravotní péče vedla ve správní jednotce Krowor k poklesu mateřské a kojenecké úmrtnosti. Dále bylo zjištěno, že strategie má vliv na přístup ke zdravotním službám ze strany matek a kojenců. Studie také odhalila jisté překážky komplikující přístup k této strategii, mj. dlouhou čekací dobu v zařízeních, zvýšení nákladů na provoz zařízení, nevyhovující management, postoj zdravotnických pracovníků a přístup do zařízení.

Abstract:

This study sought to assess the FMHCP impact on maternal mortality and childcare. The study focused on investigating the spatial impact of the policy on maternal mortality, analyzing the policy’s impact on infant mortality, examining the correlation between the FMHCP and the access to healthcare by lactating mothers and their infants and exploring the barriers to the access of this policy. The study was underpinned by the theory of planned behavior and the health belief model. For this study, the mixed methods approach was adopted. Using a purposive sampling strategy, 96 respondents were selected to either respond to a questionnaire or interview. From the study, it was revealed that the Free Maternal Healthcare Policy has led to a decrease in maternal deaths and infant deaths in the Krowor Municipality. It was further evinced that the policy has a correlation with maternal and infant access to health services, thus incrementing the usage of infant and maternal health care services. The study also revealed some barriers associated with the policy including long waiting hours at the facilities, additional costs incurred at the facilities, poor management, the attitude of health professionals, and access to the facility.
