Globální letecká doprava byla již v minulosti negativně ovlivněna světovými událostmi, které způsobily její dočasnou stagnaci. Pandemie COVID-19 s počátkem šíření na začátku roku 2020 byla odlišná tím, že měla mnohem výraznější dopad na tento způsob přepravy než jakákoliv předchozí krize. Global air transport has been negatively affected in the past by world events, which caused its temporary stagnation. The COVID-19 pandemic, which began in early 2020, was different in that it had a much greater impact on this mode of transport than any previous crisis.
