Integrating tests and questionnaires into cybersecurity games in the KYPO cyber range

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to create an application that extends games in KYPO through the tests and questionnaires. The thesis is focused on the backend part, while the frontend is part of another related bachelor thesis. The beginning of the thesis provides an insight into the environment in which the tests and questionnaires will be integrated. This is followed by a description of the course of the game and the current testing process. Part of the thesis is defining user requirements, selecting appropriate tools and formats for describing tests and questionnaires and suggesting how to store them in a database. The rest of the thesis is focused on the implementation of the extension of the database model, service layer and REST services defined by frontend. Subsequently, the course of testing of the required functionality is described and discussed possibilities of future expansion for the new functionality.

Abstract:

Cieľom tejto bakalárskej práce je vytvorenie aplikácie, ktorá rozšíri hry v prostredí Kybernetického polygónu (KYPO) o testy a dotazníkové šetrenia. Práca je zameraná na backendovú časť, pričom frontend je súčasťou inej, súvisiacej bakalárskej práce. Začiatok práce ponúka náhľad do prostredia, do ktorého budú testy a dotazníky integrované. Nasleduje popis priebehu hry a súčasného procesu testovania. Súčasťou práce je definovanie používateľských požiadaviek, výber vhodných nástrojov a formátov pre popis testov a dotazníkov a návrh spôsobu ich ukladania v databáze. Zvyšok práce je zameraný na implementáciu rozšírenia databázového modelu, servisnej vrstvy a REST služieb definovaných frontendom. Následne je popísaný priebeh testovania požadovaných funkcionalít a diskutované možnosti budúceho rozšírenia o novú funkcionalitu.
