Bakalářská práce se zabývá těžbou hnědého uhlí na Sokolovsku a jejím vlivem na krajinu a životní prostředí. Uvádí vznik rudného a nerudného hornictví, a těžby uhlí. Popisuje historický vývoj těžby hnědého uhlí od počátků až do současnosti. Charakteristika Sokolovska specifikuje zájmové území.
