Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se věnuje viru zika, patogenu, který v nedávné době způsobil epidemii například v Jižní Americe. Do středu pozornosti se dostal také kvůli svému vyvíjejícímu se mechanismu patogeneze a závažným neurologickým komplikacím, které vyvolává. Práce je napsána formou literární rešerše, kdy na základě nastudování relevantních zdrojů byly sepsány dostupné informace o historii a původu viru, jeho epidemiologii, patogenezi, klinickém obrazu, diagnostice, terapii a prevenci, což bylo hlavním cílem práce. Součástí je i stručný popis epidemie infekce, jak se vyvíjela od roku 2007 do března roku 2017.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis is about Zika virus, the pathogen, which has recently caused epidemic for example in South America. It has become the centre of attention because of its evolving mechanism of pathogenesis and serious neurological complications which it causes. The thesis is written as a review based on relevant sources and available information about the history and the origin of the virus, its epidemiology, pathogenesis, clinical features, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention, which is the main aim of this thesis. One part of this thesis also provides a brief description of one of the most recent epidemic of Zika. Specifically, it focuses on its progress from 2007 to March 2017.
