Souvislost mezi rodičovským konfliktem a romantickými vztahy v pozdní adolescenci: strach z intimity a osamělost

The relationship between parental conflict and romantic relationships in late adolescence: the fear of intimacy and loneliness

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá souvislostmi mezi vnímaným rodičovským konfliktem a strachem z intimity a osamělosti u osumnáctiletých a devatenáctiletých adolescentů. Dále se práce věnuje souvislostem mezi vnímaným rodičvským konfliktem a kvalitou vztahu mezi rodiči a dětmi. V teoretické části je nejprve vymezena problematika rodičovského konfliktu z perspektivy tří základních teoretických konceptů – kognitivně-kontextuální rámec, teorie emoční jistoty a specifický emoční model. Také jsou zmíněny teoretické koncepty zabývající se souvislostmi mezi rodičovským konfliktem a vztahem rodič-dítě (hypotéza přelévání, kompenzační hypotéza). Následně je vymezena problematika romantických vztahů v období pozdní adolescence s důrazem na citovou vazbu s rodiči při vytváření těchto vztahů. Nakonec jsou představeny empirická zjištění zabývjící se souvislostmi mezi rodičovským konfliktem a romantickými vztahy adolescentů. Ve výzkumu byly použity metody: IPPA (Dotazník citové vazby k rodičům), CPIC (Škála dětské percepce konfliktu mezi rodiči), UCLA LS (Škála míry osamělosti) a FIS (Škála strachu z intimity). V korelační studii byly zjištěny významné vztahy mezi důvěrou, odcizením a komunikací ve vztahu rodič-dítě s mírou osamělosti, ve vztahu s mírou strachu z intimity byl tento vztah slabší. Následně byl prokázán významný vztah mezi mírou vnímaného ohrožení z rodičovského konfliktu a odcizením ve vztahu rodič-dítě. Podobně tomu bylo i u vztahu mezi vnímaným ohrožením z rodičovského konfliktu a důvěrou mezi rodiči a adolescenty. Také bylo zjištěno, že míra strachu z intimity a osamělosti statisticky významně souvisí s mírou vnímaného ohrožení z rodičovského konfliktu, což se ukazuje jako konzistentní s uvedenými teoriemi a zjištěními. Vztah mezi vlastnostmi rodičovského konfliktu a osamělostí byl spíš slabý a mezi vlastnostmi konfliktu a mírou strachu z intimity nebyl prokázán statisticky významný vztah. Ukázalo se také, že vysoká jistota ve vztahu k rodičům může působit jako mediátor vztahu vnímaného ohrožení z rodičovského konfliktu a osamělosti. V případě strachu z intimity tento vztah potvrzen nebyl. Výsledky studie jsou porovnávány s teoretickými koncepty a dřívějšími empirickými zjištěními. Na závěr jsou zmíněny limity výzkumu a jsou předloženy návrhy na další výzkumná témata.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the relations between perceived interparental conflict and fear of intimacy and loneliness of children at the age of 18 and 19. It also deals with the relations between perceived interparental conflict and the quality of relationship with parents. In the theoretical part, perceived interparental conflict was identified from the perspective of three basic theoretical concepts - cognitive-contextual framework, theory of emotional security and specific emotion model. Also the theoretical concepts dealing with the relations between parental discord and parent-child relationship were discussed (spillover hypothesis, compensatory hypothesis). Subsequently, the problem of romantic relationships in late adolescence was identified with an emphasis on attachement with parents. At the end of this part, empirical findings about relation between marital discord and romantic relationship are discussed. In the empirical study the following methods were used: IPPA (The Inventory of Parent and Peer Attachment), CPIC (Children‘s Perception of Interparental Conflict Scale), UCLA LS (Scale of loneliness) and FIS (Fear of intimacy scale). In the correlation study significant associations between trust, alienation and communication in parent-child relationship with loneliness were found out, in relation to the level of fear of intimacy was found weaker relationship. Subsequently, the significant relationship between the level of perceived threat of parental conflict and alienation in parent-child relationship was found out. Similarly results were found between perceived threat of parental conflict and trust between parents and adolescents. It was also found that fear of intimacy and loneliness were significantly related to the level of perceived threat of marital discord, which is consistent with mentioned theories and findings. The relationship between characteristics of marital discord and loneliness was rather weak and the relationship between characteristics of conflict and the level of fear of intimacy was not statistically significant. It was also proved that security in relationship with parents can work as a mediator of the relation between the perceived threat of interparental conflict and the loneliness. For fear of intimacy, this relationship was not confirmed. The results of this study are compared with presented theories and empirical findings. Furthermore, the limitations of the study are mentioned and in conclusion new topics for another research are suggested.
