History of medicine - didactic implementation of the topic into the teaching of history in Czech secondary schools

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se soustředí na problematiku didaktického uchopení tématu dějin lékařství, a to z hlediska teoretického i praktického. Předmětem teoretické části práce je analýza obsahu kurikulárních dokumentů - učebnicové řady Dějepis pro gymnázia a střední školy od nakladatelství SPN a. s. Analýza sestává nejen z popisu dokladů zahrnutí zkoumaného tématu do obsahu učebnic, ale také tyto doklady kriticky hodnotí, doplňuje je a nabízí možnosti jejich dalšího didaktického využití. Z analýzy pak vychází i praktická část diplomové práce, jež předkládá návrhy 4 didaktických aplikací, využitelných ve výuce dějepisu na středních školách. Důraz je kladen na rozvoj klíčových kompetencí, práci s různorodými zdroji a pochopení přínosu lékařské vědy pro civilizaci.

Abstract:

Presented diploma thesis focuses, as well as author's bachelor thesis, on the topic of history of medicine. However, in the case of this thesis, the author adopts a different, more didactical approach, resulting in inclusion of both theoretical and practical aspects of given subject. The theoretical part presents us with an analysis of the content of curricular documents - the textbook series Dějepis pro gymnázia a střední školy, published by SPN a. s. The analysis consists not only of a description of each individual reference to the examined topic in the textbooks' content, but it also critically evaluates these documents, complements them, and offers possibilities of their further didactic use. The practical part of the thesis is based on the analysis and presents proposals for 4 didactic applications, which can be used in teaching history in secondary schools. In relation to presented didactic applications, the author emphasises the development of key competences, working with diverse sources and understanding the contribution of medical science to human civilization.
