Reading behavior and readers preferences of young adult literature readers

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá čtenářským chováním a preferencemi čtenářů young adult literatury. V první řadě se zaobírá vysvětlením základních pojmů, dále se věnuje čtenáři z hlediska vývojové psychologie odpovídajícího věku a také se zaobírá pojmem young adult. Poté je na základě žebříčků z různých webů sestaven přehled momentálně nejoblíbenějších českých i světových autorů, přičemž jsou vzpomenuta jejich nejznámější díla. Konfrontací průzkumu čtenářství dané věkové kategorie zjišťuje, kdo je vlastně čtenářem young adult literatury a co při četbě knih preferuje.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis is focused on reading behavior and readers preferences of young adult literature readers. First of all, it deals with the explanation of basic concepts and also focuses on readers in terms of developmental psychology of their appropriate age. It also deals with the concept of young adult. Then, based on the rankings from various websites, an overview of the most popular Czech and world authors is compiled, including a mention of their most famous works. By confronting the readership survey of the relevant age category, we learn who is actually a reader of young adult literature, as well as what he preferers.
