Aphra Behn's Oroonoko: the Colonizers and the Colonized

Abstract:
This thesis analyzes Aphra Behn's novel Oroonoko: or the Royal Slave. It depicts the complex relationship of the colonial society and gives the reader a real insight into the whole system of the slave trade. It studies the impact of the slavery on Oroonoko's personality, the hero of the novel. The author's description of the place where the second part of the story takes place is also analyzed.
