Usage of shear waves elastography for diagnosis of changes of oculomotor muscles in endocrine orbitopathy patients

Abstract:

Cílem práce je pojednání o SWE a možnostech jejího využití při vyšetřování pacientů s endokrinní orbitopatií (EO). Praktická část práce je věnována stanovení průměrné hodnoty elasticity přímých okohybných svalů zdravé populace, stanovení hodnoty elasticity okohybných svalů u pacientů s EO, a to ve stádiu edému okohybných svalů a ve stádiu fibrotických změn. V práci jsou rovněž srovnány výsledky měření šíře okohybných svalů pomocí ultrazvukového elastografu a metodou konvenčního ultrazvukového vyšetření

Abstract:

Aim of this work is to review SWE technique and its potentional using during examination in patients with endocrine orbitopathy. In practical part of this work elasticity of extraocular rectus muscles in healthy population, in patients with EO in early stage of disease (extraocular muscles oedema) and in patients with EO in terminal stage of this disease (extraocular muscles fibrosis) is determinated. Also, possibility of using SWE (in comparison with standard ultrasound examination) for measuring thickness of extraocular muscles is evaluated.
