JK Band Pardubice - contexts of the establishment and history of ensemble

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce pojednává o pardubickém big bandu J. K. Band, o kontextech vzniku a historii souboru. Práce je rozdělena do tří kapitol. První část popisuje taneční orchestry v Pardubicích ve 20. století, na jejichž tradici tento big band v roce 1990 navázal. Druhý oddíl uvádí informace o samotném založení souboru a díky rozhovorům s pamětníky a členy orchestru přibližuje osobnost jeho zakladatele Jaroslava Khaila. Poslední kapitola se věnuje působení orchestru na domácí i zahraniční scéně. Je zde rozebírán současný stav souboru, hráčské obsazení, koncertní a nahrávací činnost i dopady pandemické situace na chod tělesa.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the Pardubice big band J. K. Band, It's origin and history of the ensemble. The work is divided into three chapters. The first part describes dance orchestras in Pardubice in the 20th century, In whose tradition this big band continued in 1990. The second section presents information about the founding of the ensemble and thanks to interviews with witnesses and members of the orchestra, introduces the personality of its founder Jaroslav Khail. The last chapter deals with the orchestra's activities on both the domestic and foreign scene. It discusses the current state of the ensemble, the cast, concert and recording activities and the impact of the pandemic on the operation of the ensemble.
