Cieľom práce je poskytnúť dôleţité informácie v oblasti právneho postavenia cudzincov v medzinárodnom práve. Po úvode sa v prvej kapitole zdôrazňujú charakteristiky základných pojmov, ako je populácia a občianstvo, cez ktoré sa následne vyvinie v druhej kapitole, základný cieľ práce.
