Comparative analysis of mortality in the states of the European Union in the years 2000-2018

Abstract:

Cílem této práce je analyzovat, zhodnotit a také porovnat vývoj úrovně úmrtnosti ve státech Evropské unie od roku 2000 do roku 2018. Ke zhodnocení úrovně úmrtnosti bylo využito ukazatelů kvocientu kojenecké úmrtnosti a naděje dožití žen a mužů při narození a ve věku 65 let. Analýza byla rozdělena do tří zkoumaných období, ve kterých bylo pro analyzované ukazatele využito průměru, který odstranil případné náhodné výkyvy. Výsledkem je srovnání analyzovaných ukazatelů, které ukazují odlišné hodnoty mezi státy východní a západní částí Evropské unie. Některé státy východní části Evropské unie se z hlediska různých ukazatelů někdy řadí k východu a jindy více k západu. Dochází k tomu, že naděje dožití při narození i ve věku 65 let stále roste, ale rychlejší nárůst je zaznamenán u mužů a kojenecká úmrtnost klesá.

Abstract:

The aim of this work is to analyze, evaluate and also compare the development of the level of mortality in the countries of the European Union from 2000 to 2018. To evaluate the level of mortality, indicators of the quotient of infant mortality and the life expectancy of women and men at birth and at the age of 65 were used. The analysis was divided into three investigated periods, in which an average was used for the analyzed indicators, which eliminated any random fluctuations. The result is a comparison of the analyzed indicators, which show different values between the states of the eastern and western parts of the European Union. Some states of the eastern part of the European Union sometimes rank to the east and sometimes more to the west in terms of various indicators. What happens is that life expectancy at birth and at age 65 continues to rise, but the faster increase is seen in men and the infant mortality rate is falling.
