Evaluation of Legislation of the Czech National Bank's Monetary Policy

Abstract:

Předmětem diplomové práce je právní zhodnocení monetární politiky ČNB. Cílem práce je zodpovězení výzkumné otázky: Co přinese ČR přijetí eura v monetární politice? Téma je v práci uchopeno nejdříve z pohledu institucionálního, kdy určování měnové politiky je ve výhradní pravomoci ČNB. Od instituce ČNB se práce dále zaměřuje již na monetární politiku, která je zobrazena nejen v právních, ale i ekonomických souvislostech. Práce je dle uchopení tématu rozdělena na dvě části, kdy první část poskytuje právní rozdíl v současném a budoucím postavení ČNB po zavedení eura v ČR a druhá část argumenty pro či proti samostatné monetární politice ČNB. Výstupy obou části dávají odpověď na výzkumnou otázku ve prospěch zachování mandátu ČNB v oblasti měnové politiky.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis is focused on the legal aspects of monetary policy in the Czech Republic. The aim of this work is to answer the research question: What is the contribution to the monetary policy of the Czech Republic after accepting euro as a currency? First, the topic is presented from the institutional point of view. Performing monetary policy is an exlusive power of the Czech National Bank (CNB) and related legal institutes of the CNB status will be discussed. Second, the diploma thesis deals with the monetary policy itself from the legal as well as the economic point of view. The whole diploma thesis is divided into two sections according to the introduction of the topic. The first section answers the research question by showing an institutional difference between the recent and future status of the CNB after accepting euro by the Czech Republic. The second section provides arguments for the independent monetary policy. The output of both sections together gives the answer in favor of the independant monetary policy in the Czech Republic.
