Abstract:

Divadelní inscenace Raději zešílet v divočině má být adaptací stejnojmenné knihy Aleše Palána, kterou zdramatizovalo studentské tvůrčí duo Jakub Molnár a Olívia Fantúrová. Premiéra měla proběhnout ve Studiu Marta 26. března 2020, ovšem kvůli celorepublikovému uzavření školních zařízení a divadel z důvodu hrozby koronavirové infekce byla odložena na další sezónu, a proto se jedná v tomto textu pouze o reflexi světelného a video designu na úrovni konceptu, jež byl částečně nazkoušen před uzavřením škol. Dramatické dílo má přinést na jeviště příběhy vybraných šumavských samotářů, kteří jsou konfrontováni s postavou průvodce. Vedle toho se v díle objevuje ještě rovina snová, ve které vystupují nadpřirození bardi, inspirovaní pošumavskými umělci minulosti. Inscenace má nabídnout skrze vysokou míru divadelní stylizace zamyšlení nad prožitkem samoty, duševní vyrovnanosti a vztahu jedince ke společnosti. Světelná a video složka díla má v korespondenci se záměrem stylizace využívat k dosažení diváckého prožitku pokročilých technických prostředků vizuálně velice vzdálených přírodninám. Prezentace konceptu světelného a video designu je odrazem schopností, jež jsem nabyl po dobu studia v magisterském oboru Světelný design; Je na jedné straně ukázkou koncepčního řešení díla, kdy představuje mood board, inspirační obrázky a následné rozdělení dramatu na jednotlivé scény s jejich unikátními světelnými náladami. Na straně druhé předkládá neméně důležité shrnutí technických nástrojů, díky kterým je možné zrealizovat zamýšlené vizuální prvky díla. Ve zkratce jimi jsou práce s konvenčními i pokročilejšími LED světelnými zdroji, práce s videomappingem a infračerveným body trackingem. V neposlední řadě ukazuje tato reflexe také snahu o existenci díla při koronavirové karanténě v podobě krátkých videí v duchu stejného vizuálního stylu.

Abstract:

The theatre play "Raději zešílet v divočině" is meant to be an adaptation of the book written under the same name by Aleš Palán. The book has been dramatized by students Jakub Molnár and Olívia Fantúrová. The premiere should have taken place at Studio Marta on the 26th March 2020. Unfortunately, due to the nationwide lockdown of theatres and schools, caused by coronavirus epidemy, the premiere has been postponed to the next theatre season. Because of that, this text reflects only upon the lighting and video design concepts, some of which have been already partialy rehearsed before the lockdown. The drama is showing stories of selected Šumava reclusers, telling about their confrontations with the guide character. Beside that, the piece also shows another dreamlike layer of the story, represented by supernatural figures of local artists from the Šumava’s past. The play should manifest, through using a high level of theatre stylization, reflection upon the experience of solitude, mental balance and relationship between an individual and a society. Lighting and video elements of the staging are designed to match with such stylization, thus advanced technical tools unrelated to natural-looking elements are utilised to reach desired feelings within the audience. The presentation of video and lighting design concepts is reflecting the skills that I gained during my studies of Lighting design MA degree programme; On the one hand, it displays conceptual thinking about the piece, presenting the mood board, image sources of inspiration and the way in which the piece is split into scenes with their unique ligting attributes. On the other hand, it proposes and summarizes a list of technical tools through which it would be possible to make desired visual elements become real on stage. Some of these tools being conventional and advanced LED lighting fixtures, videomapping and infrared (IR) body tracking. Last but not least, this reflection documents also the attempts (throught short videos that respect the same visual style as the future staging) to make this piece alive during the coronavirus quarantine.
