The Occurrence of Symptoms of Temporo-limbic Dysfunction in a Population

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá studiem výskytu symptomů temporo-limbické dysfunkce v populaci. Metodou dotazníkového šetření jsou zkoumány dvě záměrně vybrané skupiny respondentů: pacienti s bolestmi hlavy a pacienti kuřáci. Základním předpokladem je, že symptomy, tedy jisté abnormality v činnosti mozku, se mohou projevit u obou skupin. V teoretické části je probrána funkce temporálního laloku a limbického systému mozku, temporo-limbická dysfunkce, také problematika bolestí hlavy a kouření. Část výzkumná je zaměřena na vyhodnocení výskytu abnormalit u obou skupin respondentů a na jejich vzájemné srovnání.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the occurrence of symptoms of temporo-limbic dysfunction in Czech population. Questionnaire method was used and two groups of respondents were selected purposely: patients with headaches and patients who smoke. Basic assumption is that these symptoms, i.e. certain abnormalities in brain activity, may be found in both groups. In theoretical part the function of temporal lobe and of the limbic system of brain is summarized, also the issue of temporo-limbic dysfunction, headaches and smoking is discussed. Research part is focused on the identification of abnormalities in both groups of respondents and on the comparison of these groups.
