Cognation to the tradition and rituals among selected communities of contemporary youth

Abstract:

Magisterská diplomová práce "Vztah k tradici a rituálům ve vybraných komunitách současné mládeže" vychází z terénního výzkumu, který proběhl ve čtyřech komunitách mládeže spadajících prakticky pod jednu subkulturu zvanou „Fantazáci“, formou dotazování se přes online media jako jsou diskuzní servery, které navštěvují, Skype nebo Google+, pomocí online formulářů i metodou zúčastněného pozorování a polostrukturovaných rozhovorů přímo v terénu. Součástí práce je porovnat rozdíly v chápání tradičních i netradičních oslav mezi určitými skupinami mládeže, taktéž bych ráda osvětlila právě tyto rozdíly v chápání a prožívání daných oslav a prolínání jejich prvků z jedné části společnosti do druhé, při němž mohou vznikat tradice docela nové. Důraz je kladen zejména na svátky spojené s pálením ohňů v rámci oslav vybraných povětšinou novopohanských komunit mládeže.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis "Cognation to the tradition and rituals among selected communities of contemporary youth" is based on field research conducted in four communities of young people covered under one subculture called “Fantazáci”, in form of online questioning such as chat servers they visit, Skype or Google+. Another used method besides online forms was observing and semi-structured interviewing participants directly in the field. Part of this work is to compare the differences in understanding of both traditional and non-traditional celebrations among certain youth groups - I would also like to clarify these differences in the understanding and perception of those parties and the blending elements of parts or whole companies into one another, in which case they can develop entirely new tradition. The emphasis is placed on festivals connected to bonfires in celebration of neopagan youth communities.
